A native Texan, Michele's upbringing in a bi-cultural, tri-lingual Swiss German-American household in the United States and Switzerland instilled in her an early understanding of transcending boundaries in a constantly evolving world. Complementing her impressive clinical background, she holds a bachelor's degree in Germanic Languages and English from the University of Texas at Austin. Central Texas has been her cherished home for more than 35 years.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Michele finds solace and inspiration in the natural beauty of San Marcos, Texas. Her personal interests include hiking, gardening, and painting, allowing her to connect with the world on a deeper level. It is this profound appreciation for both her professional and personal surroundings that shapes Michele's holistic approach to mental health and well-being.

Michele Frances Purvin, LCSW-S, LCDC (she/her/hers), is a distinguished social worker, psychotherapist, and entrepreneur with a wealth of experience. Graduating with a master's degree in social work from Texas State University in 2006, she earned her Clinical Social Work license (LCSW) in 2011, followed by her Chemical Dependency Counselor license (LCDC) in 2012. Since 2015, Michele has been the proud owner of a private practice based in San Marcos, Texas, where she has had the privilege of guiding numerous individuals on their journeys towards healing and personal growth.
Michele is a highly skilled practitioner, proficient in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectic behavioral therapy (DBT). Additionally, she holds a certification as a clinical trauma professional, amassing over a decade of expertise in effectively addressing anxiety, depression, and trauma. Her specialization lies in providing support for emerging adults, young adults, and college students, including international students who face unique mental health challenges.
