Michele Frances Purvin, LCSW-S, LCDC (she/her/hers) is a social worker, private practice owner, psychotherapist, supervisor, teacher, private practice consultant and entrepreneur. She earned her master’s degree in social work from Texas State University in 2006 and her license in Clinical Social Work (LCSW) in 2011 and her Chemical Dependency Counselor license (LCDC) in 2012. She has been in private practice since 2015 in San Marcos, Texas. It has been a privilege and honor to work with so many amazing people on their path to healing and personal growth.
She is trained in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectic behavioral therapy (DBT) and a certified clinical trauma professional with over 10 years of experience treating anxiety, depression and trauma. She specializes in emerging adult issues, young adult counseling and college student mental health and the mental health needs of international students.
As a native Texan, she grew up in a bi-cultural, tri-lingual Swiss German-American home in the United States and Switzerland. She learned at an early age to transcend the boundaries in a rapidly changing world. Michele holds a bachelors degree from the University of Texas at Austin in Germanic Languages and English. Central Texas has been her home for over 35 years. In her personal time she enjoys hiking, gardening, painting and the beautiful San Marcos, Texas River!
